Ética y Bioética

Present-day ethics cannot be thought without a close link to bioethics. We are facing a situation characterized by radical changes, wherein techno-scientific advance cannot be stopped. Prohibitions can only be delaying attempts. Therefore, there is only a reasonable and ethically valid answer, namely to assume and master the historic change process, endowing it with ethical meaning, making it humane and rational. Bioethics calls for an elucidation of its ontological presuppositions. Current situation demands an ethics thanks towhich the changing process will keep a living face of humanitas.Sería imposible pensar la ética actual sin asociarla a la bio-ética. Nos encontramos en una situación de transformaciones radicales y el proceso tecnocientífico es irrefrenable. Las prohibiciones sólo tiene poder moratorio. Luego, no cabe más que una respuesta razonable y éticamente válida: asumir el cambio histórico y hacernos dueños del proceso, dotarlo de sentido ético, humanizarlo, racionalizarlo. La bioética requiere esclarecer sus presupuestos ontológicos. La situación presente exige una ética que contribuya a que el proceso transformador preserve vivo el rostro de la humanitas
