Influencia del cambio climático en la emergencia del Zika

Vector-borne diseases are a public health problem, where mosquitoes are probably the most involved animals. The biology ofthese insects has been modified by climate change, which is considered an important cause of the emergence of Zika in recentyears; therefore, the present review was carried out with the objective of describing the influence of climate change on theemergence of the Zika virus, using 16 bibliographical references. Changes in the temperature and humidity of the planetcaused by climate change have modified the life cycle of Aedes aegypti, increasing its populations and vectorial capacity,favoring an important increase of the number of patients infected with this virus, especially in Latin America.Las enfermedades transmitidas por vectores constituyen un problema de salud pública, siendo los mosquitos probablementelos animales más involucrados en este sentido. La biología de estos insectos se ha modificado por el cambio climático, lo cuales considerado una causa importante de la aparición del Zika en los últimos años. Por este motivo se realizó la presenterevisión con el objetivo de describir la influencia del cambio climático en la emergencia del virus del Zika, utilizándose 16referencias bibliográficas. Las alteraciones en la temperatura y la humedad del planeta que el cambio climático ha provocado,han modificado el ciclo de vida del Aedes aegypti, incrementando sus poblaciones y su capacidad vectorial, favoreciendo unimportante aumento del número de pacientes infectados con este virus, especialmente en Latinoamérica
