Leukemic cells with double minute (DM) chromosomes from an ANLL(M1) patient were found to carry 10–15 fold amplified c-myc sequences. The linked pvt-l-like locus was amplified at the same level, suggesting that the c-myc amplicon is at least 300 kb in size.CNR grant No. 85.00537.04, Finalizzato Oncologia No. 86.00284.44, PHS grant number 3R01CA14054 awarded by the National Cancer Institute, Department of Health and Human Services, the Swedish Cancer Society, the Balthzar von Platen Foundation.
