Plautus frequently reflects on the social and political structures of Roman life. Consequently, many passages in his palliatae are found to reveal his love of the Roman army, because during his time, spectators liked very much to see soldiers on the scene and to listen to military language. So, Plautus’ concern with the army —soldiers, arms, salaries, military tactics, etc.— is apparent throughout his comical plays. Our aim in this paper is to demonstrate how Plautus satirizes that vice of rich Roman married women —to spend a great deal of money on clothes, shoes, etc.— in a military way. At the same time, an attempt is made to arrive at a method of study of Plautus’ plays that determines the real meaning of his words. No disponibl
