INDUSTRIAL USE OF HEMP (MARIJUANA). INITIATIVE STATUTE. Legalizes the growing, harvesting, storage and use of hemp for industrial purposes such as the production of building materials, cloth, industrial chemicals and paper. Defines industrial hemp as all varieties of the plant genus cannabis (marijuana), whether growing or not, containing less than one percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Allows law enforcement officers to enter fields, without probable cause, to take samples for testing. Requires growers to register annually with the State Department of Food and Agriculture.
