Leadership within Ölgerðin : In what way is Ölgerðin placing emphasis on leadership as a part of its management?

The purpose of this research study is to investigate how employee satisfaction at Ölgerðin is affected by the personality traits of its managers. Correspondence on perception of leadership within the company is examined and existing methods used to improve staff morale are explored in order to clarify their actual outcome. The goal is to furthermore reveal which leadership personality traits are important to subordinates and if the organizational culture is perceived positively. Moreover, to shed a light on whether Ölgerðin is in need for a reconstructed management style. The research was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative methods, surveys and in-depth interviews. The research findings demonstrate the main personality traits of leaders at Ölgerðin that effect employee satisfaction, which are sociability, determination and positivity, and that managers within Ölgerðin have self-favoring tendencies when it comes to self-evaluation on personality traits. Not all existing operations to improve morale are perceived to be effective by employees. When an idea comes from an employee and is carried forward, the origin of it tends to perish within the workplace. Lastly, the culture is not perceived unanimously positive by employees. In conclusion, some emphasis is placed on leadership within Ölgerðin, although no leadership style seems to be dominant and there is considerable room for improvements
