Substance abuse has gained audience in past years. Institutes such as Stuðlar therapy center have been working with and helping adolescents dealing with substance abuse, amongst other problems. These institutions have suffered increasing numbers of admittances that they are unable to cope with. To try and understand the problem the research question was “Are adolescents admitted in to Neyðarvistun more likely to have substance abuse problem than not”? The hypothesis was as follows “Drug addiction is more severe with individuals that have reoccurrences at Neyðarvistun than those with no reoccurrences“.
