Cardiovascular: Aortic Aneurysm

Dissecting aneurysm of aorta with thrombosis and canalization (endothelialization of false lumen): Here you are looking at the "false" lumen of the dissection; a thrombus is attached to the upper portion. At the lower right-hand portion of the specimen is the true lumen of the aorta and iliac arteries; the lower left-hand portion is, again, the opened "false" lumen. Also, you may (carefully) look through the top of the specimen box and see a small orifice leading to the true lumen
