Parler and Ella Allen Reed Spring, Missouri December 10, 1950 Reel 87, Item 1 Lorena It was way down upon the old plantation (These two young girls sing very sweetly, but they sing such "close harmony" that it is impossible to transcribe their words. This is not, as Mitchell expected it to be, the old Civil War popular song, but something later, and quite un-folk. I am not transcribing the bits and pieces that I can catch. MCP
