The plum species presents low requirements for climate and soil and is particularly prevalent in hilly areas, where they occupy field areas unfit for other crops. The research was carried out between 2015 and 2017 within a plantation set up in 1995. The biological material used in the present paper is represented by three plum varieties (Stanley, Pescarus and Dambovita) grafted on 4 rootstocks (Otesani 8, Pixy, Miroval and Rosior varatic). The paper aims to establish the rootstock`s influence on growth vigour in the graft/rootstock biosystem. From the three varieties studied, the Pescarus and Dambovita varieties fall into the medium vigour group and the Stanley variety in the low vigour group
