Two sisters and one brother, Composed the family. Their brother was aflicted, He lingered along and died. The Jews who came to see him, Laid Lazarus in the tomb. And tried to sooth and comfort, And drive away the gloom. When Jesus heard the news, In a far off distant land. So swiftly he did travel, To see this lonely band. When Mary saw him coming, She met him on the way. And told him of her brother, Who'd died and passed away. When Martha saw him coming. She ran and met him too. And fell down at his knees, And wept most bitterly. When Jesus saw them weeping, He mourned and wept with them too.
