Deteksi Dini Osteoporosis serta Upaya Pencegahannya dengan Pengaturan Diet dan Suplementasi Gizi di UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Jember

Community service of early detection of osteoporosis and its prevention efforts with diet and nutritional supplementation in the Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Jember is done because of the importance of data about bone health in elderly whereas the UPT does not have. The absence of bone health data is shown based on the value of bone density to make elderly often experience sudden fractures. Data of  bone density can show the condition of elderly bone so that can be determined next step as effort of prevention and improvement of elderly bone density conditions such as supplementation and diet arrangement of elderly. While counseling on the elderly is aimed to elderly understand the importance of bone examination and consume supplements and foods provided UPT. Counseling on employees aims to UPT employees can create a diet menu in accordance with the needs of the elderly. This devotion is done by Bone Mass Density examination method and counseling to elderly about osteoporosis and UPT employees about diet arrangement in elderly and supplementation to elderly. The results achieved from this activity are: there are 30 elderly suffer from osteoporosis, 19 elderly on status osteopenia and 5 elderly at normal status; there is increased knowledge of elderly and UPT employees, osteoporosis leaflets, elderly medical records, and pocketbook elderly diet cycl
