It was provided by Henry Schorsch Sr. They are the first Protestant family of European refugees to arrive in Texas under the auspices of the National Lutheran Council and Lutheran World Federation...They arrived in New York [from displaced persons camp in southern Germany] on the transport General Muir and came to Texas by rail...Muld, a farmer before he was forced to flee Estonia in 1944, will try out various jobs on the Schorsch farm...'
