DESIGN OF FUZZY - PID CONTROLLER FOR CONTROLLING POSITION IN MAGNETIC LEVITATION BALL SYSTEM

Penelitian ini mengajukan perancangan pengendali Logika Fuzzy untuk pengendalian posisi pada sistem Magnetic Levitation Ball. Posisi pada sistem magnetic levitation ball perlu dikendalikan untuk menghindari gesekan bola baja dengan permukaan. Sistem magnetic levitation ball merupakan sistem non linier ditunjukkan oleh pemodelan matematis yang cukup kompleks, kemudian hasil respon sistem secara lup terbuka belum mencapai setpoint dan menunjukkan ketidakstabilan. Ketidakstabilan ditunjukkan dengan munculnya osilasi yang besar. Metode penyelesaian yang dipilih adalah pengendali Logika Fuzzy. Logika Fuzzy dipilih karena kemampuannya dalam memudahkan persoalan kompleksitas matematika secara analitik, karena perancangannnya sesuai dengan logika manusia.  Hasil pengujian awal menggunakan pengendali logika fuzzy dengan rule base 3x3 berhasil membuat sistem mencapai setpoint, namun belum berhasil menghilangkan osilasi yang terjadi. Untuk itu, pengendali logika fuzzy dikombinasikan dengan pengendali PID. Hasil simulasi akhir menunjukkan respon yang lebih baik.. Setpoint tercapai, respon waktu cepat ditunjukkan dengan nilai konstanta waktu sebesar 0,0530 detik, dan osilasi teredam sempurnaThis study proposes the design of Fuzzy Logic controllers for controlling position in the Magnetic Levitation Ball system. The position of the magnetic levitation ball system needs to be controlled to avoid friction of the steel ball with the surface. The magnetic levitation ball system is a non-linear system shown by a fairly complex mathematical model, then the results of the open loop response have not yet reached the setpoint and show instability. Instability is indicated by the appearance of large oscillations. The solution method chosen is the Fuzzy Logic controller. Fuzzy logic is chosen because of its ability to facilitate the problem of mathematical complexity analytically, because its design is in accordance with human logic. The initial test results using fuzzy logic controllers with rule base 3x3 managed to make the system reach the setpoint, but have not succeeded in eliminating the oscillations that occur. For this reason, fuzzy logic controllers are combined with PID controllers. The final simulation results show a better response.
