The project was to build an Internet Domain Registrar System (DRS) implementing Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP) as per specification described in the final version of “Request For Comments” (RFCs) 5730 to 5734 and in compliance with requirements from the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The system is intended to be used by a domain name registrar, an organization or commercial entity that manages the reservation of Internet domain names such as google.com or microsoft.com.
