This study aims to identify and describe the cross-cultural adaptation and communication behavior as well as the obstacles encountered by regional students from Papua and Halmahera in TAU, Jakarta. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive with data collection technique through interview and observation. As newcomers, regional students studying at TAU are definitely facing the adaptation process and experiencing the barriers either academically or socially. Based on the research result shows that the process of cross-cultural adaptation and communication done by regional students is relatively good. However, they are aware of obstacles and cultural differences do not make them give up in continuing their adaptation due to ...
