PENGARUH FREKUENSI STRES FISIK DUA HARI SEKALI TERHADAP KADAR MALONDIALDEHID (MDA) DAN SUPEROKSIDA DISMUTASE (SOD) JARINGAN JANTUNG TIKUS BETINA

Introduction: Excessive physical activity can increased heart burden and triggers oxidative stress. Previous research suggestes that physical stress increased levels of endogenous antioxidants. However some studies were disapproving. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of various frequency of physical stress on heart levels of MDA and SOD in female subjects.Methods: Female rats aged 11 weeks were divided into 4 groups (n=6 each), Negative Control (KN), and various intervals of physical stress (Daily/KSH, alternate/KDH and twice weekly/KSK). Physical stress were administered for 4 weeks by means of force swimming for 5 minutes without adaptation. At the end of treatment, all rats were sacrificed and heart were collected and then homogenized. Heart MDA levels were measured using the thiobarbituric acid test method, while heart SOD levels were measured using spectrophotometric methods.
