EFEK TERATOGENIK Cadmium Chloride (CdCl2) TERHADAP STUNTING DAN KELENGKUNGAN VERTEBRAE LARVA IKAN Danio rerio

Introduction: Cadmium is a heavy metal with high toxicity. Cadmium is a heavy metal that is very dangerous and can cause some growth and bone problems. Hypothesis of this reasearch is exposure of CdCl2 in Danio rerio fish parents (F1) causes a decrease in body length and vertebral curvature of Danio rerio fish larvae (F2).Method: This research is an experimental laboratory type in vivo, using the group post test only control design. The sample of this study used 6 dpf Danio rerio fish larvae which were taken as many as 6 fishes in each group. Danio rerio fish larvae were obtained from the results of spawning Danio rerio fish adults aged 3 months previously divided into 4 groups, namely control, CdCl2 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, and 1,5 ppm which were exposed to CdCl2 for 30 days. Assessment of stunting and degree of vertebral curvature was carried out when Danio rerio fish larvae aged 6 dpf using Image J software. Analysis of data using One Way ANOVA and running with Least Significant Difference (LSD).Results: The higher dose of CdCl2 exposed to Danio rerio fish parents, influence greater effect on stunting but not on vertebral curve in Danio rerio fish larvae 6 dpf. The mean body length in the control group, treatment CdCl2 0,5, 1, and 1,5 ppm respectively 8,457 ± 0,141 mm, 8,024 ± 0,164 mm, 7,703 ± 0,191 mm, and 7,299 ± 0,104 mm. The mean degree of vertebral curvature in the control group, treatment of CdCl2 0,5, 1, and 1,5 ppm respectively 180,000 ± 0,000ᵒ, 180,000 ± 0,000ᵒ, 180,000 ± 0,000ᵒ, and 180,000 ± 0,000ᵒ. Various doses of CdCl2 exposure cause a significant decrease in body length, but not significantly in vertebral curvature.Conclusion: Exposure of CdCl2 in Danio rerio fish parents causes stunting but does not reduce the degree of vertebral curvature of the Danio rerio fish larvae 6 dpf.Keywords: Teratogenic, cadmium chloride (CdCl2), stunting, vertebral curvatur
