Evaluasi Kesesuaian Lahan Pertanian Pada Budidaya Tanaman Nilam Di Kepanjen, Kabupaten Malang

This research aims to find out: (1) the most suitable agricultural land for patchouli cultivation, (2) good patchouli seedling techniques, (3) patchouli plant maintenance and fertilization techniques, (4) harvesting patchouli plants, and (5 ) the process of distilling patchouli leaves. The method used is a qualitative method with survey techniques. The technique includes: observation, documentation and in-depth interviews with patchouli farmers in Kepanjen, Malang Regency. The results of the research show that; (i) the agricultural land is used by patchouli farmers is a yard. Patchouli plants are planted intercropping with sengon plants which reach 3 years of age, with the intensity of the sun entering 10-25%; (ii) patchouli farmers do not make patchouli seedlings by cutting cuttings first, but planed on the farm dirrectly; (iii) treatment werw done by patchouli farmers group, are less organized, and fertilization are more using chemical fertilizers uprooted; (iv) harvesting patchouli plants do not use special scissor, but use sickle so that many patchouli is damaged , the roots are also, and (v) distillation of patchouli leaves using a direct steam boiler, so the results are not enough, and the oil produced is still a lot of pollutant
