Metabolic Pathways for Methoxychlor in Rats

The main approach of the experiment was to metabolize methoxychlor with rat liver microsomes since hepatic microsomes have been shown to contain many of the metabolic enzyme systems. The incubated sample was extracted with various solvents after hydrolysis. The extracts were separated and identified by thin layer or vapor phase chromatography. The structure of the metabolites were theoretically determined by studying the analogy between DDT and methoxychlor.
