The ultraviolet absorption spectra of benzotriazole, 5, (6)-chloro-benzotriazole, benzimidazole, indazole, and indole have been determined in aqueous solutions of varying acidity in the region 210-300 mmu. An attempt has been made to correlate the absorption spectra of these compounds with their molecular structure. The acidic dissociation constants of several of the compounds have been determined graphically from the absorption data
