Nurse Experience In Professional Nursing Practice Model Implementation In Intensive Care Unit

Introduction: Nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a service provided to patients in critical condition, life-threatening, so it must be carried out by a team of trained and experienced in intensive care. The role of the nurse is large enough to provide services in critically ill patients, and synergy with other professions to provide a quality service. One effort that can be done to improve the quality of nursing care in the ICU is with the implementation of the Professional Nursing Care. Method: The purpose of this study was to determine the nurses experience in applying the Professional Nursing Care Method in the Room Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RS Siti Khodijah Sepanjang. Researchers used the method in this study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The population in this study were nurses who served in the Room ICU RS Siti Khodijah Sepanjang Along with a minimum term of one year. The sampling technique is purposive sampling of participants obtained as much as 8 people. Data collector is the researchers themselves by conducting in-depth interviews and using tools tape recorders and notebooks, analyzed using analytical methods developed Colaizzi. Result: This research resulted in four themes, namely an understanding of the concept of Professional Nursing Care Method nurses in ICU, nurses' perception about the application of Professional Nursing Care Method in the room, the advantages and disadvantages implementation of Professional Nursing Care Method in the room, and hopes for the implementation of Professional Nursing Care Method suitable for ICU RS Siti Khodijah Sepanjang. Conclusion: At the end of this study are expected barriers to implementation of Professional Nursing Care Method in the ICU RS Siti Khodijah Sepanjang long as it can be seen that the institution hospital can provide support to nurses who have been trying to implement Professional Nursing Care Method by taking into account the barriers of implementation and expectations of nurses in order to achieve job satisfaction of nurses, patients and families and to improve the quality of hospital services.
