This project provides a collection of materials to fifth grade students so that they may participate in an after-school fitness program. This fitness program includes the use of a FITBIT device combined with monthly workout routines, health tips and nutritional recipes. The purpose of instituting this program is to lessen the rates of childhood obesity as well as help students set and achieve lifetime fitness goals. This project is a pilot study that focuses on creating healthy habits for fifth grade students as they mature and move into a more independent lifestyle.
