Global awareness is an issue that is rarely discussed in elementary education, but it greatly impacts the creation of advocates for change. The research concluded that individuals in the community cared about such crucial issues, but were not educated enough on the topics at hand, which resulted in not knowing how they could make a difference. Three themes emerged from the research: lack of global education, working collaboratively as a community, and parent/teacher involvement of global education in the classroom, as well as at home.
