In the past bullying has been considered as a normal part of growing up. Today research shows that bullying is clearly a growing problem in American schools, and it is more prevalent in middle schools. This literature review explores how bullying is associated with social, emotional, and academic failure of those directly involved that in recent cases has lead to the suicide of the person being bullied. This research paper also explores what middle school educators can do to prevent students from bullying in schools. In addition, it looks at the different anti-bullying programs that aim at the prevention and reduction of bullying acts.
