The problem of food supply is a critical issue in developing countries such as Tanzania, where the mainstay of these countries economies is extremely dependent upon the agricultural sector. The food supply system in Tanzania and other developing countries is highly sensitive to factors such as food transportation and distribution, food pricing income levels, food consumption patterns, agricultural marketing and trade, technologies employed, food storage systems, food processing facilities, and agricultural productivity.
