Ferenc Hepp's Distinguished Alumnus Award (May 31, 1980)

This is the certificate of Springfield College's Distinguished Alumnus Award for Ferenc (Frank) Hepp, class of 1935 (May 31, 1980). On the certificate it says "In recognition of outstanding achievements in his chosen profession and for significant contributions benefiting the Community, State and Nation which brought honor to Springfield College." It can be seen that this award is sponsored by the Class of 1940. D. Irving Conrad, President of the Alumni Council, signed on the bottom right corner.Ferenc (Frank) Hepp received a B.S. degree in 1935 and an M.Ed. degree in 1936 from Springfield College, and a PhD degree from University of Iowa. He served as Director of the Royal Hungarian Physical Education Department, President of the Hungarian College of Physical Education and later Chairman of the Hungarian Scientific Research Association for Physical Education and Sports. In the mid 1950’, he founded the Hungarian Scientific Council of Physical Education and Sport and subsequently founded and directed the Hungarian Scientific Research Institute of Physical Education and Sport. “Frank” has been a member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and President of the Hungarian National Basketball Federation. On the international level, he has been associated with the International Amateur Basketball Federation and is a life member of the AAHPER. He has published about 150 professional and scientific publications in the field of physical education, sport, and sport psychology, including the “Olympic Sports Dictionary” in four languages. Dr. Hepp received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Springfield College in 1980. He was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a contributor in 1981
