A two page fax copy of a USA Basketball News Release dated November 7, 1991. The release was sent out to various Sports information directors, including Springfield College, to announce the tour information of the Soviet Union's Basketball Teams 1991 US tour. This tour included a November 19, 1991 game against Springfield College that also was part of the 100th Anniversary of the creation of Basketball Celebrations taking place across the country. The tour was arranged by USA Basketball. The news release includes the schedule of games, information on the history of the relationship between USA Basketball and the Soviet team, and the names and information on the individual players on the Soviet National team.On November 19, 1991, the Springfield College Men’s Basketball Team played the Soviet Union National Basketball Team as part of the 100th anniversary of the creation of basketball celebrations. It was also part of the Soviet’s tour that included playing University of Kentucky, University of North Carolina, Duke University and Indiana University. The team included half of the 1992 Russian Olympic team. Springfield College lost the game 92-86 in overtime before 1800 in the college’s Blake Arena
