Ted Shawn and his dancers at Court Square Theater, Springfield (March 11, 1933)

A flyer of a dance show performed by Ted Shawn and his dancers. The show was presented at the Court Square Theater in Springfield, MA and it was sponsored by Springfield College. It occurred on March 11, 1933 and was one of the first performances that showcased Shawn's all-male dance troupe. The back of the flyer contains newspaper clips about critic’s reactions to the Ted Shawn’s tour of 1930-31 and 1932-1933.Along with professional dancers such as Barton Mumaw and Jack Cole, Ted Shawn recruited college athletes, including Wilbur McCormick (Springfield College Class of 1934), to join his company Ted Shawn and His All Men Dancers. Shortly after this performance, they gave a series of performances at the Boston Repertory Theater during the week of March 20th 1933.
