Springfield College YMCA Historical Image Collection poster, 2002

A poster created by Robert Kudlay, Project Director for the IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) grant-funded "Springfield College / YMCA Historical Image Collections" digitization project, as a promotional poster to highlight the display at Babson Library at Springfield College. The display was on exhibition from mid-August 2002 until mid-September 2002 on the main floor of the Springfield College Babson Library and provided numerous examples of vintage YMCA postcards, lantern slides, posters, glass negatives, as well as various sizes of photographic images, portraits, and landscapes dating from as early as the 1850s until about World War II. These photographs depict the founding and evolution of the School for Christian Workers, now known as Springfield College, the United War Work efforts of the YMCA and the YMCA College during World War I, and the activities, both academic and sports related, of the students of the college. Collections included within this exhibit and project include the YMCA Historical Image Collection, the YMCA Training School Image Collection, the YMCA College Image Collection, The YMCA Portrait Collection, the YMCA World War I Collection, and the Cliff Smith YMCA Postcard Collection.There is un-digitized duplicate of this poster in the folder (002)
