Alison Mellage, Peter Avdoulos, and Lindsay Moore (2001-2002)

This photograph was on the cover of Springfield College's women's swimming program for the 2001-2002 season. Shown in the photograph (from left to right) is Alison Mellage (class of 2003), head coach Peter Avdoulos, and Lindsay Moore (class of 2002), standing on top of a diving board with an American flag in the background.Mellage was the NCAA Division III Three-Meter Diving National Champion, and Moore was the runner up during the 2001 season. Mellage was recognized as the NEWMAC Diver of the Year. During her freshman year, Mellage posted two-top finishes at the NCAA Division III Championship. Moore was named Division III diver of the year in 2002, and was an eight-time All American throughout her years of swimming for Springfield College. Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and is entering his 29th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2013-2014. The current NEWMAC Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the Year, Avdoulos has coached countless All-New England and All-American divers, as well as several National Champions. Avdoulos is a 1985 Springfield College graduate and was a standout diver for Springfield as an undergraduate. He received the Charles Batterman Award as the top New England performer over a four-year period. Avdoulos has been the NCAA Division III Women’s Diving Coach of the Year four times. He has been selected as the New England Diving Coach of the Year eight times since 1991, and was named both the NEWMAC Men’s and Women’s Diving Coach of the Year for the 2002-2003 season and the 2012 and 2013 campaigns
