Carole Ann Peck, a synchronized swimmer at Springfield College, emerges from the Judd Swimming Pool after an exciting show in the 1950s. The swimming pool was housed in Judd Gymnasium, which was built in 1894 and is one of the oldest buildings on campus. The building served as the site of the college's physical education classes. The synchronized swimming team existed during the 1950s, where they performed elaborate synchronized routines accompanied by music. The sport requires strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry, and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control. For more information on the history of the Springfield College Marlin Club, see: https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/corporate_entities/118
