The study seeks to reconstruct the itinerary of King Charles I in 1341 on the basis of all the existing sources. It is part of a greater project aimed at publishing all sources of the Angevin period in Hungary. While working on the latter task, the author came to the conclusion that the former itineraries compiled by 19th and 20th century historians contain lots of mistakes and contradictions. Establishing the whereabouts of a 14th century king poses no problems to Western European historians given the abundance of sources, while their East-Central European peers have sometimes to be content with being able to reconstruct a royal itinerary of a certain year.
