This article discusses the contributing factors to the formation and dissolution of the marriage bond. For that, a therapeutic experience of a couple composed of two individuals with previous psychiatric diagnoses and dissatisfaction history in married life, treated in psychotherapy with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, was used. The objective is to understand the relational patterns that contribute to the maintenance of aggressive communication between them and for that the initial sessions werediscussed descriptively and theoretically grounded, explaining the principal techniquesand the progress made.
