Research on child development and maternal well-being in immigrant families presents contradictory findings, documenting both cultural protective factors termed “the immigrant paradox” and developmental risks (Fuller & Garcia Coll, 2010; Suarez-Orozco, Rhodes, & Milburn, 2009).
