This paper describes a congregation-based project undertaken to test the premise that worship has a twofold function in faith formation and evangelism. This study was undertaken using a variety of tools (e.g., a worship audit, focus groups, an adult education programme) and reflection on key questions on the nature of worship and on sanctification (with particular reference to the work of Larry Hurtado and Daniel Migliore respectively). An evaluation of the project points to ways forward for churches, and to how worship can be key in this through proclamation and celebration
