Four post-mortem bricks, two from slag lines of Basic Oxygen Furnaces (BOF) and two from slag lines of Electric Arc Furnaces (EFA),were subjected to a quantitative phase development study in order to understand the variations in mineralogy from hot face to cold face of the used bricks. Cathodoluminescence Microscopy (CLM), Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy SEM/EDS and X-ray powder diffraction were implemented for the qualitative phase study and point-counting and graphite oxidation procedures were used for the quantitative study--Abstract, page 1
