Ethno-STEM is an emerging program that calls for infusing cultural practices in STEM education. As an integrated field of knowledge, ethno-STEM is an inherent component of indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS), which has been recently established by the international world organizations as a top global priority for empowering communities in their striving efforts towards sustainable development (Kapoor & Shizha, 2010).
