Two kinds of consumer optoelectronic products were used for chemical quantification to demonstrate the feasibility of a simple analytical method. A light panel with light-emitting diode (LED) backlight was used as the illumination source for transmission measurement to quantify humidity and as the excitation source for luminescence to quantify oxygen. The recognition agents for oxygen and humidity were platinum porphyrin complex (PtOEP) luminophore and cobalt chloride chromophore, respectively. Optical sensor plates coated with these agents were prepared to characterize the performance.
