In Latin America’s contemporary theater, body and writing belong to a fabric of which they are simultaneously matter and meaning. By frequently renouncing mimesis as the only foundation of dramatic writing and in some cases renouncing the idea itself of theatrical play, today’s theatricalities, give the body a privileged place as a means and as a theme.
