The synthesis of the title salt, [Ag(C 6H 7N 4) 2](NO 3) 3, was carried out employing a 1:2 molar ratio of 2,2\u27-biimidazole and silver nitrate respectively. The cation has crystallographically-imposed C2 symmetry with the metal atom in an almost linear coordination environment [N - Ag - N = 177.01 (17)°]. The crystal structure displays N - H⋯O and C - H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions
