PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH INDUSTRI GULA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKSI KEDELAI PADA TANAH MEDITERAN KULON PROGO DIY

The objective of this research was to observe the utilization of cane sugar industry waste (CSIW) to increase soybean (Glycine max) production on mediteran soils (Typic Hapludalf) at Kulon Progo Yogyakarta Special Regions. The 4 x 3 factorial experiment was arranged in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor was the dosage of compost (K), while the second one was incubation of compost after application (I). The experiment had been conducted at Banjarasri, Yogyakarta since July 2004 up to June 2005. The result of the experiment showed that CSIW compost applications were able to change the bulk density, total porosity, micro pore, permeability, aggregate stability, C-organic, total N, total P, available P and CEC, while on macro pore, available water, infiltration, soil resistance to penetration and soil pH have no influence. Contribution of total porosity, permeability and C-organics significantly affected on plant growth, while on Yield of soybeen there was only C-organics and total N. Aplication of 5 ton/ha compost increase 0,6 ton/ha seed production of soybean. Key Words : cane sugar industry waste (CSIW), decompotition, growth of plan
