Scholarly Information Discovery in the Networked Academic Learning Environment

In academic learning environments, information literacy competency is a key to measure a student’s academic success. To improve excellence in teaching, administrators, instructors, and librarians in Georgia Southern University are working together to foster skills for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. This presentation explores key relationship among computer literacy, information literacy, and library literacy in academic learning environments. From the perspective of an academic information service librarian who has been serving in academic learning environments for over 17 years, this presentation offers practical suggestions for improving information literacy instructions at Georgia Southern University.
