PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PEDULI LINGKUNGAN: (Studi Multikasus di MIN Tegalasri Wlingi Blitar dan SDN 1 Sukun Kota Malang)

The purposes of this study are to describe the implementation of character education of environmental care at MIN Tegalasri WlingiBlitar and SDN Sukun 1 Malang, to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation, to describe the students' response to the implementation. In this study, the researcheremploys adescriptive qualitative approach. The subject of the study consists of the principal, teachers, and students. The object of this research is the situation of the environmental care character education. This study uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The data are analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The researcher ensures the validity of the data by using triangulation techniques and data sources. The results of the research showthat (1) MIN Tegalasri WlingiBlitar and SDN Sukun 1 Malangimplement the character education of environmental care by the development of school curriculum which includes: self-development program, learning process, the integration in all subjects, the development of school health and school culture. (2) The supporting factors consists of educators, learners, educational materials, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the role of parents and cooperation with the Government of the institution. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consists of damaged infrastructures and the finance. The schools solve the problems by cooperating with the parents. (3) The studentsshow good responses to the educational character of environmental care. It can be seen from the achievement indicators of the environmental care atthe level of the lower and upper class
