A push for increasing the lifespan and sustainability of infrastructure has led to a need for more durable, strong, and environmental friendly construction materials. A concrete mix design using recycled steel fibers from rubber tires was chosen to enhance the mechanical properties, durability, and sustainability of the concrete. Concrete mixtures with different quantities of steel and recycled fibers were examined. Compression and flexural tests were performed in order to analyze these properties and used to compare the results with the industry standard reinforced steel fibers. The results show the compressive strength as well as the flexural strength of fiber reinforced concrete has increased compared to reference mixtures. It is found t...
