A nationwide multi-mode demand forecasting model predicting the annual county-to-county round trip demand for automobile, commercial airline, air taxi and rail at one year intervals through 2030 has been developed. The Transportation Systems Analysis Model (TSAM) is based on the traditional four-step model used in transportation systems planning. It calculates trip generation, trip distribution, and mode choice for each county origin-destination pair. The network assignment model is accomplished for commercial airline and air taxi demand.
