Steel-making processes generate carbon dioxide air emissions and a slag co-product. The aim of this project was to develop a functional sequestration system using steelmaking slag to permanently capture carbon dioxide emitted in steelmaking off gas. A possible parallel benefit of this process would be rapid chemical stabilization of the slag minerals with reducing swelling or leaching
