地域社会と生涯スポーツ(その3) : 岩沼市民の居住地区とスポーツ活動との関連について

There are various needs of people for sporting activities and health. The administrative organizations have to plan the sports promotion that the residents want. The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between the residential areas and the sporting activities of residents in Iwanuma City at Miyagi Prefecture. Questionnaire was distributed to 2,104 residents from November to December in 1994. The questionnaire was sent to residents that were chosen randomly. Six hundred questionnaires which were filled appropriately were returned, resulting in a response rate of 28.5%. The results of this study were as follows ; 1) The rate of participation in sporting activities in Iwanuma City was higher than the average of whole country. And there were a lot of participants of sporting activities regularly. 2) The total number of users of Sport Facilities (Area Service=A.S.) increased. Especially many residents used open school. There were a lot of residents who took part in the Sport Program (Program Service= P.S.) of district at the eastern area. It is considered to be related to the community awareness and the community activity in that area. There were a lot of residents that belong to the Sport Club (Club Service= C.S.) in the western area. 3) The residents wanted the Sport Facilities to offer the opportunities to do light execises and the Sport Program concerned with the health and the light Sport Service
