わが国におけるスポーツ組織の形成過程に関する研究(I)

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the way of the development of Japanese sport organizations and its configurational characteristics by analyzing the formation process since the period when sport as a foreign culture was imported, grew in the environments of Japanese society, spread and diffused, until the period when its national level of governing organizations were formed. A central aspect of the overall process is the gradual emergence of modern sport organizations out of the games of play groups. More concretely, the stages in the development of the Japanese sport organizations were: 1. a stage in which the play groups, seeking only a ephemeral (or temporary) joy of the game, had begun to appear; 2. a stage in which the informal groups of the lovers of sport, whose members had been specified but still in the informal in terms of its group composition and its forms of activities, had begun to appear. They began to play matches each other individually; 3. a stage in which the formal groups of sport ("Undo-bu") as a part of school fraternities in the extracurricular activities had began to be established. They had to win at any cost and play with "Bushido" spirit
