There are an estimated 1.6 - 3.8 million sports-related concussions which occur in athletics annually in the United States; however, the actual rate may be higher, as many studies suggest that nearly half of the concussions that occur may go unreported. Recent evidence suggests life-long behavioral and cognitive impairments in individuals with multiple, usually 3 or more, concussions; however to date there has been limited assessment of motor impairments in this population.
